Hammam

Forget the fancy spa, get yourself to a Hammam with some friends and get scrubbed. I personally think this should be done seasonally to just get off that layer of crust. I hope this is as available in the US as it is in Europe but I've found a decent and authentic Hammam in most cities I've lived in, especially in Paris. I love this ritual because it's really not about luxury but more about care and community and I think that should be more the point of how we maintain our bodies. Be humble and get scrubbed within an inch of your life. You will know if you're in the right place when they give you savon noir and a little glove as pictured.
